Taalcursussen Grieks, Nederlands en Engels in Groningen

Would you like to learn Dutch? Is it because you came to the Netherlands to study and want to understand the language more? Or because you want to look for work in the Netherlands? Do you want to learn how to properly converse and even be able to read Dutch books?

We have various Dutch courses. If you don’t know any Dutch at all, we start with the beginner’s course. We also have courses for intermediate and advanced students. Our courses are available as group lessons, duo lessons or individual lessons.

Our courses are divided by level. The beginner’s course starts at A0, followed by A1 and A2. The intermediate course starts at B1 and ends at B2. The advanced courses are indicated by C1 and C2.

Course description

Beginners I, Level A0-> A1

In these courses for beginners I you learn the basics of the Dutch language. During the lessons various skills are offered such as writing, reading, pronunciation and grammar.  

At the end of this course you will be able to introduce yourself to others, ask and answer questions about personal information such as where you live, people you know and questions about your family.

Vocabulary: doing the groceries in a store, shopping, describing a person (appearance), invitation to a party, public transport. Grammar: you learn the present tense, singular / plural nouns and adjectives, past tense, comparative forms and even more.  

Method/Textbook: De Opmaat, chapters 1-5    
Beginners II, Level A1-A2

This course continues where the beginners I course stopped. You can make simple sentences in the present tense. During the lessons various skills are offered such as writing, reading, pronunciation and grammar.  

In this course you will learn how to conduct conversations in the past and future tense. You learn to ask for the opinion of others and give your own opinion. You learn how to make appointments, e.g. with a real estate agent or in a hospital; how to talk to a doctor, talk about your education and your work, describe a home in detail, describe a person (appearance, clothing, colors, character).

At the end of this course you will be able to talk about your home, your free time and health.

Dutch for intermediate students, Level A2->B1

The course is intended for anyone who already speaks Dutch at an A2 level and wants to develop further to a B1 level. We pay attention to grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Themes that we discuss during this course are: study and occupation, society and dealing with others, talking about the weather and geography, communication, politics, art and literature, environment and pollution, sports and energy.  

Method / textbook: De Sprong
Dutch for advanced students, Level B1->B2  

The course is intended for anyone who speaks Dutch at a B1 level and wants to develop further to a B2 level. In this level you learn to produce a simple text on familiar topics or topics of personal interest. You learn to describe experiences and events, dreams, expectations and ambitions and you learn to briefly give reasons and explanations for your opinions and plans.  

Method / textbook: De finale   ‘De finale’ has been the most popular method to prepare for the State Exam II (Staatsexamen II) since 2007. It contains many writing assignments, but also tips and strategies for the exam.
